Warning: Battery Critically Low
From CSS Wiki
The Warning: Battery Critally Low article describes what to do if the following message is displayed at boot on a classroom computer:
"Warning, Battery Critically Low! Press F1 to continue.
A coin-cell battery maintains computer configuration, date, and time information. This battery can last several years. The "Warning, Battery Critically Low!" message may indicate that the battery needs to be replaced.
To continue using the computer, press the F1 key to continue.
The low battery message is sometimes caused by a loss of ground through one of the plugs.
This condition can sometimes be fixed by uplugging the power cord from the back of the computer and at the outlet or surge protector. Also be sure to unplug the surge protector from the outlet.
Plug each power cord back in firmly, wiggling the plugs a little as you do so. If the "Warning, Battery Critically Low! Press F1 to continue" message does not appear after turning on the computer, you have solved the problem. If it does re-appear, you will need to create a ticket for the Information Technology Group.
Battery replacement requires removing the computer from the rack rails and drilling out the security hardware. It can take several hours to perform the battery replacement.
