General classrooms comprise the majority of instructional spaces at the University of Washington. They can range in size from 20 to 100 seats with a variety of furniture types and furniture layouts. Smaller classrooms generally have loose furniture and flat floors; larger classrooms (more than 60 students) generally have tiers/steps to elevate the students in the rear of the room to improve sightlines to the front of the room.
