Video Screencasting for Teaching and Learning
Video Screencasting is different from traditional video recording. Screencasting conveys complex information and concepts by recording your digital presentation, a view of the room, and your voice. These three elements are combined into a web-based presentation that students can view after class.CSSITG's Automated Video Screencasting Service is as easy to use as our on-line audio recording service, which allows instructors to focus on teaching while CSS technology automatically records and posts digital content to a web page so that students can catch up on missed classes, review the day’s lecture material or study for exams.
Request Screencasting
Instructors teaching in classrooms equipped with our automated video screencasting system can request this service by filling out our Screencasting Request Form. The form requires a UW NetID to validate the identity and authority of the requestor. Once the request form has been received, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the requestor with information about the screencasting service. A list of screencast-ready classrooms can be viewed on the Classroom Portal web page.
View Recorded Classes
Classroom recordings are published in the Classroom Portal. To view a Screencast, click the Screencast link; Adobe Flash Player is required.
