Part-Time Positions Available Quarterly
Classroom Support Services, a department of Undergraduate Academic Affairs at the University of Washington, employs approximately 50 hourly student workers on a quarter-to-quarter basis. We offer a convenient, on-campus work environment, flexible hours, and competitive pay. Below, you will find descriptions of our various hourly employment positions. - Help Desk Analysts are a vital component to Classroom Support Services and are the initial contact for departmental clients. These employees collect information from clients and process reservations for audio/visual equipment, staffing, and facilities. Potential employees should be knowledgeable in use of multi-line telephone and database systems and have customer service experience.
- Operators are the public face of Classroom Support Services and work independently with departmental clients. These employees act as on-site department representatives and work with clients to support not only classroom instruction but special events held in Kane, Mary Gates and Johnson Halls. Potential employees should be comfortable using various audio/visual components (training provided) and demonstrate both excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Mary Gates Hall Office Assistants are the backbone of the Classroom Support Services Mary Gates Hall satellite office. These employees provide support to faculty, staff and students within Mary Gates Hall as well as other surrounding buildings. Potential employees should be comfortable using various audio/visual components (training provided) and demonstrate both excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Preventive Maintenance Assistants act to ensure that Classroom Support Services classroom resources are kept in good working order. These employees maintain classroom audio/visual equipment to support the departmental mission of providing high-quality learning environments. Potential employees should feel comfortable working independently and demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills.
- STF Assistants are responsible for maintaining an online reservations system as well as facilitating equipment check-in/check-out. Requirements for this position include excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn how to operate audio/visual equipment. Candidates must also be a registered UW student. Advancement to STF Coordinator is possible from this position.
- Photography Assistants generally come to this unit experienced in photographic processes and assist in the full range of services provided. These services include providing University faculty and staff access to professional grade developing and printing services as well as specializing in reproducing prints from historical collections. Advancement is possible within this unit.
