Duminea, a Festival for Water Spirits

• Shows the communal rituals in the village of Soku in the eastern Niger Delta. Presented are the two classes of spirits: the heroes who have once lived with men and the water people, spirits who have never lived with men. The water people are the creators and owners of various rivers and creeks. These spirits are the forces of nature while the heroes are the forces of culture.
