Dr. Leakey and the Dawn of Man
- 1967 ----- color ----- 50 min ----- 16mm
- The story of the actual search for evidence of early man is seldom told. This film, taken in the Olduvai Gorge in Africa, shows such a search. Dr. Lewis Leakey, discoverer of the oldest remains of man's ancestors, demonstrates the dedicated efforts of anthropologists to find the answers to questions concerning man's evolution. While subsequent explorations have found that even Dr. Leakey underestimated the age of man on this earth, the historical aspects of this film make it a milestone in the field of anthropology.
