Trapped by the injustice of cultural traditions in Africa and her father's desire to sell her hand in marriage, she escapes to the city in search of a new beginning. City life is prosperous at first, but she soon discovers she has contracted HIV. Filmed on location in Ethiopia over two years, this true story is a bittersweet one about the cycle of AIDS in Africa.
