(From the PBS series Life on the Internet) James Gosling has been hailed as the best computer programmer in the world, although he'll deny it. Jim Clark, founder of Silicon Graphics Inc. and Chair of Netscape Communications, may be one of the smartest business men in the world. And Bob Kahn, without a doubt, is one of the major pioneers of our time—the co-inventor of the technology that allows computers to talk to each other. They each have doctorates in computer science, they each spend their working hours dealing with ideas and concepts. And with three totally different approaches, they are changing the future of life, on the Internet.
