Claymation*
- 1978 ----- color ----- 18 min ----- 16mm
- Using scenes from Closed Mondays, Mountain Music, Martin the Cobbler and some entirely new animation to illustrate the principles of three-dimensional clay animation, filmmaker Will Vinton and his staff of animators discuss the processes of this unique filmmaking technique which won the Academy Award for its co-creators in 1975. The film shows the mixing of colors, creation of characters who move, production and editing of the live action film which serves as an animation guide, music scoring and the slow, demanding process of clay itself.
