Clay*
- 1966 ----- color ----- 15 min ----- 16mm
- The qualities of clay as a material are explored: its texture, plasticity, and need to be kept damp during work. Pinch pot is made by hollowing a ball of clay with the fingers and shaping into a bowl. Use of the potter's wheel is demonstrated, including preparing the clay by wedging, throwing, centering, shaping and finishing. Sculpture of animals and other figures, slab construction of a box, glazing and firing of finished pieces are shown.
