Host Marcia Alvar speaks with John Delaney, Professor of Oceanography and Director of the Volcano Systems Center at the University of Washington. Professor Delaney has been the chief scientist on several expeditions exploring the ocean bottom along the Juan de Fuca Ridge off the coast of Washington and Oregon, a region of high volcanic activity. He is in the process of establishing the first seafloor observatory in the world along this ridge.
