They discuss what multi-culturalism means to different people, and the US's efforts to live up to its reputation for providing equality, by attempting to redefine the old, limiting, "melting pot" concept. Professor Butler also discusses some of the social and racial problems in history as well as pointing out the true cancer at the heart of American society-- racism.
