Acting: Looking beyond the Obvious (Sara Schneider)
- 1996 ----- color ----- 29 min ----- vhs
- (Upon Reflection series) Host Marcia Alvar speaks with Sara Schneider, a member of the faculty of the UW School of Drama. Her most recent book, Vital Mummies, explores the golden age of window display in the mid-1970's, especially in New York, where shop windows became a location for street theater in which mannequins were presented in dramatic, and even melodramatic, narrative scenes. She also discusses the common thread of performance that goes beyond the theater. How mannequins and display artists create their performances is another topic in how traditionally inanimate mannequins come to life.
