  • One day, during the Gulf War, a radio D.J., Ross Carlin, in Orangeville, Ontario tried to play the Canadian National Anthem, Oh, Canada! and found that there was no recent professional recording of it. So Carlin, in association with Peter Pearson, set out to record Oh, Canada! It was not as simple as might be believed, yet in the fall of 1991 over 300 Canadian musicians and artists joined in common purpose to record two deluxe versions, traditional symphonic and contemporary. Among the artists contributing to the effort was Michael Burgess, Maureen Forester, Salome Bey, Randy Backman, Patsy Gallant, Tommy Hunter, Paul Janz, Luba, Rita MacNiel, Alana Miles, Natalie, Michelle Wright.
