American Art from the National Gallery of Art
- 1993 ----- color ----- 30 min ----- laserdisc
- From Gilbert Stuart to Mary Cassatt to Jackson Pollock, this videodisc provides a compendium of over 2,600 works by American artists. The pieces included span three centuries and represent virtually all of the National Gallery's collections of American paintings and sculpture. Over 1,000 works of art on paper are also included in this disc: drawings, watercolors, prints, and renderings from the Index of American Design. Many details of the works of art permits one to examine pictures closely. A full-motion introduction, narrated by Earl A. Powell III, Director of the National Gallery, provides an overview of the American collections and complements the extensive still-frame archive of images. (Donated by the National Gallery of Art)
