- (Frontline series) Frontline travels to Columbia for an investigative biography of the rise and fall of the world's richest and most violent drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Before he was killed at the age of 44 on a rooftop in Medellin, Escobar had amassed a personal fortune of three billion dollars. He owned his own fleet of air planes and helicopters, his own zoo, and property. He bought the car that once belonged to Al Capone. He finally owned his own prison. A little boy brought up in a religious home progressed from a drug runner, to a contract killer, to the man who industrialized the exportation of cocaine. His ruthless ways with his enemies and friends alike finally brought him down, but not before he was elected to the Columbian Congress and brought his country's judicial system to its knees.
