- (National Dream, The: Building the Impossible Railway series, Part 1) Presents the original dream of John A. Macdonald--to have a transcontinental railway that links all of the Canadas. The desire to include British Columbia encouraged early surveys across dangerous mountains to find possible routes for the railway. Includes the explorations of Walter Moberley who was encouraged by the Conservative administration of John Macdonald who felt that, without the railway, Canada would be threatened by the United States.
