- (Nova series) In September of 1991, hikers in the Italian Alps made what is considered the most important discovery in modern archaeology. What they found was the almost completely preserved body of what was thought to be a 4,000 year-old man, including all of his belongings. A full-scale international research project later revealed that the Iceman was approximately 5,300 years-old. NOVA takes a comprehensive look at the project and the attempt to trace this man's life and journey, giving scientists a glimpse into the ordinary daily life of humans during the Stone Age.
