Professor Schele tells how she first became involved in her study of the Maya and her involvement in deciphering the Mayan glyphs. They discuss how the stories and events told by the glyphs have redefined or disproved our previous conceptions of the Mayan society. They also discuss the processes involved in deciphering the glyphs.
