Racial Structure: A Tense Terrain (Andrew Hacker)
- 1993 ----- color ----- 28 min ----- vhs
- (Upon Reflection series) Host Marcia Alvar speaks with Andrew Hacker, Professor at Queens College, and author of Two Nations: Black and White, Separate, Hostile, Unequal. Professor Hacker looks realistically at two nations, White America and Black America, and how far America is from being an egalitarian society. They discuss "the value of a white skin" in our society and how equalling factors, such as higher education, still fall short in leveling the two distinct societies. He also discusses other races and where they stand in this complex racial structure.
