• (Upon Reflection series) Host Marcia Alvar speaks with Richard Leakey, paleo-anthropologist and Director of Kenya's Wildlife Services, whose latest book is Origins Reconsidered: In Search of What Makes Us Human. Dr. Leakey examines the origin of humanness, especially in relationship to chimpanzees; the difficulty religion, especially Christianity, has with man not being the center of the universe. He debunks accepted characteristics, tool making, communication, etc. He speaks of the difficulty in popularizing the technical issues in paleo-anthropology and his relationship with his famous parents.
