- Filmmaker Karen Kramer captures the joy and extravagant beauty of Brooklyn's Labor Day Caribbean Carnival, coupling infectious calypso rhythms with the striking visual displays of the carnival bands, costumed performers and rocking crowds. The event itself becomes a window into the thoughts and feelings of expatriate West Indians as they are interviewed during preparations for Carnival. Through these interviews one comes to appreciate the importance of carnival to people determined to maintain their sense of identity and their links with West Indian culture.
