Concepts of Dislocations

- Employs animation on an atomic scale to describe what takes place when dislocations occur. Illustrates relationship between edge and screw dislocations and also shows slip planes, dislocation loops and mixed dislocations. Plastic deformation at low stress levels is illustrated in an animated sequence and by the analogous motion of a living caterpillar.
