Sexual Survival*
- 1992 ----- color ----- 53 min ----- vhs
- Americans are overwhelmed by images promoting sexuality. But there is little education about how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. The United States has one of the highest rates of STDs in the world. Denmark has one of the lowest rates of STDs. Their openness about sexuality and their willingness to teach children about sex at an early age has helped them prevent sexual diseases. Jean Enersen focuses on America's ignorance about STDs including genital warts (HPB virus), syphilis, chlamydia and herpes. Shows the lack of sex eduction puts teenagers at most risk. Contrasts sharply with the Danish attitude where sex education begins at a very early age.
