Principles of Quality Concrete

- Fundamental principles of quality concrete and procedures for design of mixes. The water-cement-ratio hypotheses is explained and illustrated with mix design and calculations. Also explained are the process of hydration and the effects of aggregate characteristics on the quality of plastic and hardened concrete. Major emphasis is given to the importance of air entrainment in improving concrete durability.
