Colonialism Has Fallen (A Wile Mukolonhi)
- 1980 ----- color ----- 25 min ----- 16mm
- After five hundred years colonialism has fallen in Mozambique; but colonialism has left many unwanted legacies: illiteracy, political backwardness, the oppression of women, etc. Together with natural disasters and international events these are only some of the obstacles which the people of Mozambique must learn to address if their struggle to build a new society is to be successful. Besides scenes of social and political life in the small rural village, OMM, named for the Mozambican Women's Organization, and of the work of the villagers, the film includes traditional dances and songs, banned by the Portuguese, which are now being re-claimed by the Mozambican people.
