  • The Greater Vancouver Regional District is currently emerging as an example for other air pollution control institutions to follow. To ensure a high standard of air quality in future years, an Air Quality Management Plan is being prepared by the GVRD, the first of its kind in Canada. The GVRD is now implementing many innovative air pollution techniques including continuous computerized monitoring, the addition of a mobile air monitoring unit and the creation of a phone-in service for region residents and news stations. The GVRD is working to make changes now and to confront air pollution problems head on.
