Selections include an improvisatory introduction played by Ali Akbar Khan on the sarod, a large lute-like instrument with a metal-covered fingerboard and several sympathetic strings; a "gat" with improvisations played as a solo on the sarod, an accompanied by a pair of North Indian drums called tabla; a tabla solo played by Pandit Mahapurush Misra.
