Waiting for Harry
- 1980 ----- color ----- 57 min ----- vhs
- Illustrates some of the many difficulties faced by contemporary Aborigines in maintaining their ancient customs; in this case, a group must wait for days to finish an important funerary ceremony because a key figure ("Harry") is out of town trying to round up the ceremony's necessary participants. Also explores the dilemmas faced by a sympathetic anthropologist who must decide whether simply to observe or to become involved in events as they unfold. Directed by Kim McKenzie for the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies.
