Time to Die, A: Who Decides?

- Presents a portrait of three terminally ill patients, focusing on the question of who decides how and when they should be allowed to die. At the age of nine months, Philip Loewen was found to have a brain tumor which would eventually leave him unwilling to eat. Terri Thaler, dying of Hodgkin's Disease at 26, discussed with her sister her wishes for a peaceful and natural death. Roswell Gilbert, wishing to spare his wife the continuing agony of Alzheimer's Disease and osteoporosis, shot and killed her. Presents the ethical and legal questions raised by advances in medical science, and faced by both professionals and the families of terminally ill patients.
