Kopjes: Islands in a Sea of Grass

- Huge outcroppings of granite rock known as Kopjes (pronounced "copies") lie scattered across the grassy plains of Tanzania's Serengetti. They are home to a dazzling variety of animals that have evolved to survive in this rock habitat, and the hunting ground of birds, cats and reptiles that prey on them.
