- This is a photographic representation of a famous Chinese scroll painting which depicts the people and everyday activities in the Sung dynasty (960-1279) in the riverside capital of Kaifeng during the spring festival. The scroll is 37 feet long and only one foot high. Within its horizontal purview more that 4,000 human figures, each only half an inch tall, are shown performing daily activities in much the same way as they have throughout history. (Deposited by the Motion Picture Development Foundation of the Republic of China on Taiwan)
