- (Produced by BBC-TV) Investigates our misuse of the earth's resources. As we burn fossil fuels, we add more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. This colorless, odorless, naturally occurring gas turns the earth into a giant greenhouse by trapping the sun's heat and raising the world's temperature each year. By the year 2050, the impact on sea level, crop growth and rainfall could be disastrous--for us and for all living things. Addresses questions vital to our survival: What are the long-term effects of our insatiable appetite for generated power? How can we prevent environmental catastrophe?
