Cities for People

- Presents an essay on the successful humanization of the urban landscape. Explores the space left in a city--for people--after the buildings are built. Filmed in San Francisco, Savannah, San Antonio, Atlanta, Boston and New York, as well as in age-tested medieval and Renaissance cities of Asolo, Bologna, Cortona, Milan, Perugia, San Gimignano, Todi and Vernazza, Italy, it demonstrates that beauty, harmony and spatial complexity--the stuff of aesthetics--need not be cosmetic extras; they are the factors that make some cities livable and others alien.
