  • Full control over its borders and over the people who enter is a basic definition of a country. The control over a specific territory is the basic responsibility of the department of customs. Canada, in order to insure protection of its citizens, its environment and its economy, has developed its Customs Office as a central agency to clear items/incidents which are the responsibility of other government agencies. Customs supervises the primary inspection of duty goods, agricultural items, identification and immigrations and health regulations.
