- As Seattle expands as a hub of international business and industry, the traffic congestion also expands. Washington state ranks third in the nation in rush hour freeway congestion and Seattle ranks worse than Los Angeles in traffic congestion. Commuter stress and driver aggression and violence has increased. Businesses are threatening to move because of the traffic problems. Other cities (London, Portland, Miami, Los Angeles) solutions (or attempts) are shown. Light rail is examined. Present methods of coping within the Seattle Metropolitan areas are examined.
