A series of chronologically arranged portraits follows the course of the 19th century focusing on industrialization, abolition, temperance, the Civil War, the westward movement and suffrage. Traces how historical events affected women and how women in turn affected 19th century history with emphasis on their participation in their times. (Restricted to use by institutions of Higher Education in Washington state only)
