- (Chinese History series, Part 1) Covers the search for the origin of the Chinese people and their civilization from approximately 600,000 years ago to 1100 B.C. through a variety of artifacts, documents and art materials. Reveals, through anthropological findings, China's early inhabitants: Lan-t'ien Man, Peking Man and the Upper Cave Man. Examines three Neolithic cultures: Yang-shao, Ch'ing-kang and Lung-shan. Discusses the development of the first Chinese historical dynasty, Shang, and, with it, China's entrance into the Bronze Age.
