- 1987 ----- color ----- 60 min ----- vhs
- Philip Morrison explores the ways in which scientific tools, such as Galileo's telescope, helped shape our perceptions of the world. Often, new findings and theories stimulate the creation of new instruments. These new experiences and instruments heighten the excitement in science and stimulate discoveries. Various examples of illusions are also examined including magic tricks, psychological puzzles and television special effects which demonstrate the ways in which our minds and vision interact to both create illusion and ultimately allow us to see beyond it.
