Neil Mangum, Custer Battlefield National Monument historian, supplies additional information yet points out that Custer's Last Stand remains a mystery. Richard Fox and Douglas Scott, co-directors of the first archeological survey of Custer Battlefield, explain the purpose of the survey. The progress of the survey is followed including discoveries that help to explain movements of the U. S. troops and the massed Indian forces.
