It became another member of the family in the 60's. The times were chaotic and television whirled us into that chaos: the assassination and funeral of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement, the Viet Nam war, the moon landing. So swiftly was change upon us in the decade of the 60's, so swiftly did the landmarks fall that all these years later it seems a ride through great upheaval to a vast unknowable future.
