- 1981 ----- color ----- 50 min ----- vhs
- Documents the history of Tibet from 1904 to 1949 by means of archival footage originally photographed by a succession of British diplomatic missions to Lhasa. Through the use of clockwork cameras, they have vividly recorded on some of the earliest colour film ever shot--and only recently rediscovered--the street life in Lhasa, the garden parties, the monastic debates and the religious festivals as well as rare footage of the XIVth Dalai Lama's arrival in Lhasa in 1939.
