Cancer Detectives of Lin Xian, The

- (Nova series) One of the first films ever to come out of modern China, The Cancer Detectives of Lin Xian discloses the Chinese scientists' campaign against cancer of the esophagus. Lin Xian is a county in the People's Republic of China where for 2,000 years esophageal cancer has occurred far above the national average. Shows that the Chinese approach to eradicating cancer lies not in basic cell research, as it does in the West, but rather on eliminating the suspected environmental causes of the disease.
