What Is Music?

- Introduces children to the limitless scope of musical sound. Shows the difference between the random sounds of nature and the planned sounds of music and then samples the music of various cultures. Includes a neighborhood rhythm band, a percussion ensemble, an ancient Chinese folk song, a country-blues song, Australian aboriginal music, Renaissance brass, Indian sitar music and a contemporary electronics piece. Visuals relate music and cultural source.
