Wet Earth, Warm People

A film team from the National Film Board of Canada was sent to Indonesia to film the lifestyles of the people and how the government reacted to their needs. Instead, the film became the story of the crew trying to help the Indonesian people in dealings with the government. Abandoning work in the city, the crew moves into the country again, trying to see how the people live. The people react to the film crew with such intensity and friendship that the film becomes the story of the interaction between two distinct cultures, a reaction between a primitive people with open hearts and a people secure in the knowledge of the world of technology learning to open their hearts.
