- Cities produce a more or less unpleasant alteration of the climate. Presents a range of recent meteorological findings. The direct effect of cities on weather and climate is seen in increased cloudiness, increased runoff, downwind pollution, rainfall anomalies, convergence and divergence due to surface stress and thermal effects. The effects on people are seen as both psychological and physiological. Causes and possible solutions are presented.
