Uses newsreel footage, press interviews with Russian and American diplomats and excerpts from President Franklin Roosevelt's speeches to trace relationships between the United States and the Soviet Union before and during World War II. Shows the Russians seeking to gain power over American organizations, allying themselves in a treaty with Nazi Germany, accepting American assistance in resisting the invading Germans and demanding peace conditions which made further tensions inevitable.
