(Men in Crisis Series) Discusses the debate, concessions and commitments that were made by Stalin, Truman and Churchill at the Potsdam Conference in Germany, 1945. Discusses the reasons behind the negotiations and Roosevelt not including Truman in an pre-conference sessions. Upon Roosevelt's death Truman had to forge ahead on his own without any previous knowledge. In the middle of the conference Churchill had to return to England for the general elections. Upon his defeat Clement Atley became the British member of the conference and Truman, new in office himself, was forced into the role of the mediator between a bewildered Atley and a cold and distant Stalin.
