Trials of Franz Kafka, The

• With prophetic vision and singular artistry, Franz Kafka foretold the anxiety and alienation of modern man. Photographed in Kafak's native Prague, this film explores "The Trials" of childhood, youth and tragic adulthood which he transformed into novels and stories central to our understanding of life today. Looks at the age and the times that nurtured Kafka. In his own words, startling premonitions about the future are traced--a world where technology vies with totalitarianism to suppress the spirit of Joseph K. The Trial of Joseph K. is more than the Trial of Franz Kafka. It is, we have since learned, the Trial of Everyman. (Narrated by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.)
