Bataan--The Forgotten Hell

  • 1982 ----- color ----- 50 min ----- vhs
  • Focuses on an incredible story of human survival told by American servicemen who were captured by the Japanese during World War II. The men interviewed had suffered starvation and debilitating diseases even before they were surrendered to the Japanese following the fall of Bataan. Forced to walk the Death March under the blistering tropical sun with little food and water, many American and Filipino troops were beaten, bayoneted and beheaded along the way. In six days, some 10,000 men lost their lives. Those who survived were submitted to brutal treatment and conditions in Japanese prison camps, and later, on Japanese Hellships.
